About the Lectureship

Dr. George Klein is 2008 Block Lectureship Award Recipient

The Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute is proud to work with the Block family to recognize leadership in the field of cancer through the Herbert and Maxine Block Memorial Lectureship Award for Distinguished Achievement in Cancer.

The proceeds from the Herbert J. Block Memorial Golf Tournament fund the Herbert and Maxine Block Memorial Lectureship Award for Distinguished Achievement in Cancer. The award is given annually by The James to a renowned cancer researcher who visits The Ohio State University to accept the honor and lecture about his or her work.

The Block family and Ohio State are excited to announce that George Klein, MD, PhD, professor emeritus of Molecular and Tumor Biology Center at Karolinska Institute, Sweden, has been named the 2008 awardee. Internationally renowned for his contribution to human health through his discoveries in cancer immunology, Dr. Klein will travel to Columbus in September to accept the award and present the lecture.
