Nursing in 11 East Doan – ICC
The Immediate Care Center (ICC) cares for patients who require brief ambulatory follow-up, such as weekly laboratory studies, while undergoing chemotherapy or patients who have developed symptoms or an unanticipated clinical problem since their last physician visit. A certified nurse practitioner sees many of the ICC patients. Patients undergoing certain ambulatory procedures, such as central line placement or bone marrow biopsy, are also placed in ICC.
ICC is operational from Monday at 7 AM until Friday at 5 PM. It is staffed with registered nurses, nurse practitioners, patient care associates and unit clerical associates.
