The Survivorship Center of Excellence, through research and collaborative efforts, focuses on survivorship related issues, information and resources.
The mission of the Center is to foster and expand survivorship research and supportive services to develop feasible, personalized interventions that will contribute to better outcomes for cancer survivors, caregivers and the community.
The Survivorship Center works in collaboration with JamesCare for Life to provide cancer support programs for those patients with cancer, their families, friends and caregivers.

JamesCare for Life Class Highlight
The Lebed Method, Focus on Healing through Movement and Exercise
Tuesdays, July 8 - August 12 (six week series)
3 p.m. - 4 p.m.
University Hospital East – Wallace Auditorium
The Lebed Method consists of rejuvenating stretches and slow, smooth movements that help to rehabilitate your body, safely and effectively. The simple exercise routines are designed to relieve pain, combat fatigue, enhance balance, and aid in the management of lymphedema. Classes will meet once a week for six weeks in a relaxed atmosphere with uplifting music. Laura Mainzer, PTA, and Oncology/Lymphedema specialist will facilitate. Materials and supplies will be provided. Upon completion of all classes, participates will receive a free DVD and other valuable take home material. Registration is required.
