The Survivorship Center of Excellence, through research and collaborative efforts, focuses on survivorship related issues, information and resources.
The mission of the Center is to foster and expand survivorship research and supportive services to develop feasible, personalized interventions that will contribute to better outcomes for cancer survivors, caregivers and the community.
The Survivorship Center works in collaboration with JamesCare for Life to provide cancer support programs for those patients with cancer, their families, friends and caregivers.

Be part of a cancer-fighting community by participating in the Lance Armstrong Foundation's LIVESTRONG™ Day at Ohio State. LIVESTRONG™ Day will be held Tuesday, May 13 from 12 p.m . – 1 p.m. on the Medical Center plaza outside Rhodes Hall. Lance Armstrong is scheduled to speak at 12:30 p.m. Be sure to wear yellow to show you LIVESTRONG™!
Brain Tumor Awareness and Survivor Event:

Ross Heart Hospital AuditoriumThe event features a performance and keynote speech by David M. Bailey – singer, songwriter and survivor. Robert Cavaliere, MD, and Herbert Newton, MD, FAAN, will provide welcome comments and Dr. Newton’s band, Grey Matter, will perform. The Hidden Under Our Hats National Brain Tumor Awareness Project will be on site as well. An opportunity to mingle with current patients, survivors, physicians and staff, this survivor event is sponsored by the Esther Dardinger Foundation, Scherring-Plough and the Midwest Textile and Home Product Association. Planning for Survivorship
April 14 from 12 – 1 p.m.
University Hospital East, Buckeye Garden Conference Room
I’m finished with my cancer treatment, now what? Planning for survivorship is important. This class will feature a candid discussion about questions like what happens now?, what is normal? Cheryl Huang, MS, RN, AOCN, a clinical nurse specialist, will lead this class, discuss some of the common challenges of survivorship and offer helpful tips to address them. Refreshments will be provided.
