Joan Bisesi, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, died in November 2001 from a rare form of oral cancer, one which was particularly unusual for a woman of her youth, vitality and healthy lifestyle.
In her last months, she joined with her husband, Phil, to search for a way in which her battle with the disease could be used for the good of others for years to come.
And so, with the support of many, they founded Joan’s Fund, an endowment at The Ohio State University, through the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute.
